Network rules
Short list. Most of it is common sense.
1. Don't be a jerk
Harassment, hate speech, and targeted abuse aren't welcome here. Disagree with people all you want, just don't make it personal or ugly.
2. No spam or flooding
Don't spam channels or users. Don't flood the network with connections, messages, or CTCP requests. Bots are fine but need operator approval first.
3. No illegal content
We don't care about your camrip collection or your Backstreet Boys discography that you want to share with fellow nerds. What we do care and hate: CSAM, malware, ransomware, spyware, keyloggers, botnets, and anything else in that category. That stuff gets you banned, no appeal. Sharing files over DCC is disabled on the network anyway. It leaks real IP addresses and we'd rather not have malware, viruses or other above mentioned content flowing through our servers.
4. Don't mess with the network
Don't try to disrupt, exploit, or break anything. DDoS attacks, DoS attempts, IRC attacks, or running a botnet from our network will get you permanently banned. We don't really want to do that, so just don't.
5. No drug dealing
Don't sell, trade, or arrange distribution of illicit substances on the network. Take it elsewhere.
6. No ban evasion
If you've been banned, don't reconnect under a different IP, VPN, or proxy to get around it. VPN and TOR are fine in general, just not as a tool to evade a ban.
7. Channel rules
Channel operators run their own channels and set their own rules. Follow them. Network operators won't step into channel disputes unless something on this list is being broken.
8. Operator decisions
Operators have the final say. If you think a call was wrong, come talk about it in
#ircworld, calmly and without drama. We're reasonable people.
